Master of Laws (LL.M. Program)

Welcome to the Department of International Law, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University). Here below you will find all nececcery information concerning education in framework of IPHR. Program consists of 4 terms: Sept-Jan, Feb-June, Sept-Jan, Feb-June.
First 3 terms you have 6-9 courses per term and Research work. Last term you will have 2 internships (6 week internship and 8 week pre-degree internship), state examination, master thesis defence. 
We have upper weeks and lower weeks. First week (for I term Zero week) is always upper week. Next week will be lower week. Some courses will be on upper week and some only on lower. For example, you have course at Sept 1 at 18.00 (upper week), next week (Sept 8) you will have another course at 18.00 because first course will be on upper weeks and second on lower during the whole term.

Zero Week. We have Zero Week for student of all master program in University to have time for adoptation  here in campus and to settle all the matters concerning admission of student. Sept. 1 - Sept. 4.
Russian student can get their student cards in room 245 (main building, Frolova Elena Ivanovna), e-card in room 250 (main building, Kuzmina Valentina Mikhailovna). Foreign students can get their student cards in room 227 (main building, Shalashova Marina Vasilievna, 84954342612 ex. 1131), e-card at department (for Asia, Africa, Europe, etc. - Building of Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences).

State examination

State examination consists of computer test, oral exam, master thesis defence.
  • Test consists of 30 questions. Only one answer is always correct. To pass the test student should have minimum 50% rights answers (15). Download test sample.
  • The next stage is oral exam. Student take random examination card and prepare answers for 2 questions in card for 30 minutes maximum. Then student give oral answer to the examination board. Download state exam program. Download state exam cards. Before the state exam students have opportunity to get consultations. Download consultations schedule.
  • After passing the state examination student must defence his master degree thesis.

Master degree thesis

Student must choose sphere of his interest in human rights and send email with draft topic of thesis to the department (gugunskiy_da@pfur.ru). The Department appoints supervisor and then student with supervisor in framework of research work edit topic and prepare plan or their work. Draft topic should be approved till the end of October in I term. Final topic should be approved till the end of October in III term.

Student must do master thesis in accordance with requirements approved by the Department. Download requirements.
It is better to use prepared by the Department form of thesis cover and structure. Download cover.
